The bus costs less, like twenty cents (I am talking about dollars), and also the subway. It has a good subway network, not as New York, but you can reach a lot of points using the subway. And if not, you can take a bus. My cousin stayed in Palermo, in a Buenos Aires apartment. I have been there twice and I think this is the best place if you want to spend some short time in Buenos Aires. In fact, if I had to live in Buenos Aires I would certainly choose Palermo, because it has a lot of options, like bars and coffee shops and is a quiet place. Also it is not far from downtown. You have the D subway station and a lot of buses which are called “colectivos”. I don’t recommend you to take a bus at 9am, for example. The rash our in Buenos Aires is not the best time for using the public transport. I have walked a lot, because I was on vacations but Buenos Aires is very big so you can’t walk to all places, sometimes you will have to take a bus or the subway, but if you travel after or before the rash our, it will be all right.
